Micro Static Mixers for Inorganic and Organic Analytical Chemistry
Initial Product Series

A Spectrum of Solutions
Bringing Innovative and Cost Effective Solutions from Aerospace to Life Sciences. Utilizing our in depth knowledge on materials and microflow or microfluidics, we were able to solve a longstanding problem in the world of analytical chemsitry - namely in the area of protein analysis (organic anayltical chemistry). Past devices claiming to mixers were in fact laminar flow devices.Additionally, material constraints disallowed the use of stainless steels in high pressure systems due to iron toxicity on proteins being analyzed.Thinking how to incorprate a series of trip wires in a microflow cell, we leaned on our gas turbine engine experience. Chevrons are used for noise abatement on the nacelle exits of engines - disrupting the laminar boundry layer of the gas exhaust. We included opposing chevrons on the interior of the flow cell paths to generate full turbulence with no moving parts. The internal volume of micro flow cell can be as low as 3 microliters. We developed both Titanium and Engineered Thermoplastic options (PEEK) acceptable for protein analysis. Patent awarded for Micro Static Mixer Additional Innovative Products are in the pipeline to be announced soon.
Static Mixer Overview
The range of miscibility of liquids used to be mixed in the numerous possible variations of liquids is from two water like substances to oil and water. Not all liquids can be mixed, The static mixer extends the range of miscibility significantly with no moving parts. The industry is pressed to minimize sample analysis time, sample size and respective mobile phases for cost of sample and waste removal. The MicroFlow Micro Static Mixers offer an innovative packaging capability of having up to five inputs - five. Liquid inputs to create necessary mobile phase for sample analysis. The input count options are from one to five. The mixer can be inverted and used as a diverter, sending a mixed solution to five different locations in a system. The circular profile enables for a clean ring assembly bracket.
The Range of Packaging Capabilities and Material options offers a Spectrum of Solutions.

Stainless Steel Mixer
The Stainless Steel Mixers designs for inorganic UHPLC applications.

Titanium Mixer
The Titanium static Mixers for high pressure organic chemistry applications. Mixersare made Grade 5 Titanium, and anodized to create a titanium oxide layer. The design allows for organic chromatography applications that are sensitive to the iron content of the stainless steel design. The TiO2 layering is an effective barrier from the alloying elements that provide strength for the titanium.

PEEK Mixer
The PEEK Mixer is for organic chemistry solutions, such as proteomics.
Mixer Overview
The mixers are designed for use with standard chromatography fittings. The unique cylindrical design allows for up to five inlets.. The product can be inverted to deliver input to five different locations – a media diverter.
